“I could write 5,000 words about John Carpenter, but 200 words about myself is a struggle.”

Katherine is a product of an analog childhood and a digital adulthood. Her writing focuses on the intersections of pop culture, media, and characters therein. Katherine started college at sixteen and pursued professional writing, inspired by playing Remedy Entertainment’s 2001 game Max Payne—to date her favorite game. She spent time as a teacher, fostering a love of writing and media in the American classroom, focusing her efforts on pedagogy and curriculum before moving on to college instruction. While teaching, Katherine received her M.A. in Professional Writing and soon after left the classroom to concentrate solely on writing and community development for video games.

Katherine now works as a social media and community manager for Arrowhead Game Studios (Helldivers, Magicka) on Helldivers 2. She has served in a community management and public relations role for Voidpoint, game development studio behind Ion Fury, as well as serving as writer on the retro FPS A.W.O.L., developed by Shotspark Studios. Katherine is also a regular contributor to retro FPS-focused Reload Magazine, horror mag Fearzine, and co-hosts Failurepiece Theater, a weekly film criticism podcast about films that “failed” in various ways, and whether they warrant a fresh look.

She currently resides in Stockholm, Sweden with her partner, Peter.
